Renown  Bounty Board  Jail  NPC Locations

Overview[]

Bounty Boards are structures that can be found on every island with a settlement or in your Brig's captain quarters (seen as paper stacks), and are used to track down wanted and or famous players, whose posters can be seen on the board. Board Posters contain players from top 100 and players from your server. There is a ratio of 3:1 of global to server bounties.

Server Players[]

Upon opening the Bounty Board UI, the player will be able to see all players with their character in frame, their character's last name with a big text under it, their current bounty in 'Galleons' and their username. Your character's pose in the UI is dependent on your equipped animation pack.

Bounties and assassination contracts can be selected in the contracts/wanted poster UI, which expands the poster and lists the person's feats, as well as a "Hunt" button.

  • For wanted players, it displays as "Crimes and Feats", and lists everything they have done as a criminal, such as "50 counts of murder, property destruction, etc." These numbers are accurate to the actions the player has actually done to gain a bounty.
  • For players with fame, it displays as "Deeds and Feats", and works similarly.
  • Selecting criminal players in the bounty board UI will display when and where last sighted. and if they're on a big island it will tell you what region they're in as well (Like Mount Caesar or The Scorching Dunes ). The time and location is where that criminal last had Notoriety, and it updates on a delay. The location will also update if the player interacts with a non-criminal merchant.
  • Selecting famous players in the bounty board UI displays last location and if they're on a big island it will tell you what region they're in as well (Like Mount Caesar or The Scorching Dunes) similarly to criminals, but always on a delay and will never show they're current location.

Top 100 Players[]

The World's Most Wanted section lists the top 100 bounties in the game. The bounties are listed under different sections depending on their leaderboard position, which in the future will give titles automatically to players holding these positions, which will also color their name on the player list and even give a symbol next to it at the highest 2 tiers. Assassin Syndicate players have a separate leaderboard and get separate titles for their position on the leaderboard.

Titles that will be automatically given to the top most wanted players:

  • (Top 1-4) Emperor of the Sea
  • (Top 5-14) Warlord of the Sea
  • (Top 15-28) Most Wanted
  • (Top 29-50) Demon
  • (Top 51-100) Tyrant

Titles that will be automatically given to the top Assassin Syndicate players:

  • (Top 1-4) Assassin Overseer
  • (Top 5-14) Assassin Cardinal
  • (Top 15-28) Assassin Architect
  • (Top 29-50) Assassin Maestro
  • (Top 51-100) Assassin Lord

when a player on the World's Most Wanted list is near someone, that person will get a notification that a hunter is nearby and will be put in combat directly.

Mysterious Figures / Sponsors[]

Mysteriouse Figure

Mysterious Figure

Mysterious Figures are NPCs that can be found next to most wanted boards, who when spoken to, will explain who they are and a bit about their organization. They will show you assassination contracts for both players of fame and Grand Navy players, in the same UI, as well as the top Grand Navy ranks and famous players.

Assassination contracts are the flip side of bounty hunting, compared to wanted posters, with contracts issued for fame rather than bounty. These are only available to negative reputation players.

Assassination Contracts

Top 100 Players[]

The title tier system works just like the wanted board, except for their respective type. Grand Navy players have a separate leaderboard and get separate titles for their position on the leaderboard.

Titles that will be automatically given to the top famous players:

  • (Top 1-4) Monarch of the Sea
  • (Top 5-14) Guardian of the Sea
  • (Top 15-28) War Saint
  • (Top 29-50) Legendary Hero
  • (Top 51-100) Savior

Titles that will be automatically given to the top Grand Navy players:

  • (Top 1-4) Navy Admiral
  • (Top 5-14) Navy Vice Admiral
  • (Top 15-28) Navy Rear Admiral
  • (Top 29-50) Navy Commodore
  • (Top 51-100) Navy Commander

Sponsor NPCs and the Syndicate Receptionist are also able to clear your Notoriety in exchange for galleons. The current rate for this is your Notoriety points x 0.2, with a minimum price of 20 and a maximum of the galleon cap.

Target Hunt[]

Upon clicking the button "Hunt" mentioned above, you will be given a copy of their wanted poster/assassination contract that you can hold. Both players are notified when a hunt/contract death occurs.

It is unclear of the specific amount of Renown you take from someone after successfully completing an assassination contract or bounty hunt, but it is confirmed that the higher renown you have, the more you take from the victim.

The galleons awarded are an amount between 50-500 depending on the bounty/contract, and there are measures to prevent abuse of this. The gain and loss are based on whoever has the lowest amount of renown in the kill. There is a 20% tax applied to the gain. Renown is gained at the base rate of 4k up until both players surpass 125k renown, unless either player has less than 5k renown. For easier calculation, players created Renown Calculator.

After a successful hunt, Wanted players/NPCs will be sent to jail on Silverhold, and a cooldown of 5-minute starts to prevent you from immediately hunting a player again. (Killing a player who was hunting you ignores this and still gives you renown). If you need help finding the locations of bounties, you can go to this page. (Please note the page currently is not updated for Cassia Bay)

Notoriety system[]

For more information, see Notoriety.

The Notoriety system is a measurement of how much of a threat the Grand Navy sees you to the Bronze Sea. The higher notoriety you have, the stronger the ships the Navy will send after you. As you accumulate more notoriety, you'll have to spend more Galleons to clear it.

Huntable NPCs[]

Jailed Criminal

Wanted NPC in jail

Alongside with players, on the Bounty Board, NPCs can be found with randomized crimes/feats listed, that can be hunted just like players. They spawn at preset locations on certain islands, have random level, random appearances, and random stat builds.

Hunting them rewards Renown in the same way player hunting does, but only half of the regular amount you would get.

Whenever NPCs are hunted or killed, they will respawn in jail with handcuffs just like players. They can be broken out of their cuffs which affects renown just like it does with players, and when broken out of their cuffs they will "ally" with whoever did it and won't attack them. This "allying" also prevents you from damaging each other.

After their jail time is up, they will be released somewhere in the world with their level, skills and bounty increased and their appearance changed. (Ex: if a level 90 NPC is released and becomes level 110, they would learn another magic if they were a mage). Huntable NPCs over Level 150 are executed when they are arrested, in the same way that players are executed if they are arrested with over 50k bounty. The same chat messages are announced when this happens, and players can witness the execution at the location stated, or stop the execution if they wish.

Rival Evolution

How Wanted NPC's changes after each arrest.

Rivalry System[]

Rival on Bounty board

Rival on Bounty Board

Rival Message

The message that appears when someone's rival spawns.

Creating a Rival[]

To create a Rival, you must hunt down the same NPC three times in a row without hunting any other criminals in between. If you hunt a different criminal, the counter will reset, giving you the opportunity to choose a new NPC to become your Rival. A Player can only have one Rival at a time. After successfully hunting the same NPC three times in a row, the NPC will not be arrested and will vanish, since it became your Rival and cannot be executed anymore.

When a player creates a rival, the rival's information, such as appearance, build, and level, is permanently saved to their account's data. This means that the Rival will follow the player through servers.

When a player's rival spawns, it will be announced in chat for all players as "Rumors of notorious criminal [Rival's name] have begun circling..." They appear on wanted boards and can be hunted by any player. If a player defeats another player's rival enough times, they can become their rival as well.

Rival Mechanics[]

Each time your rival is defeated, their level will increase by approximately 25 (until they hit that sea's cap). The Rival's appearance will also change slightly, much like Huntable NPCs after being arrested. As of now, Rivals can level up to 160 in the Bronze sea and to level 260 in the Nimbus sea.

Defeating your Rival or dying to them announces it in chat for all players to see. As a reward for defeating their Rival, players may receive a rare, exotic, or legendary treasure chart, as well as clothing or other items.
